Register Now - New Bioscience Management Course & Information Session!

Beginning in Spring 2008, OHSU will launch a new track in its Management in Science & Technology M.S. degree program--Managing in the Bioscience Industry. The first course in this new track is Managing the Medical Product Lifecycle. In this course you will learn how a bioscience product moves from idea to development to market. Specific topics include:

  • Unique scientific, regulatory and quality requirements "just to get in the game"
  • Identifying medical customers and their buying motivations
  • Product definition and development
  • Product adoption challenges and success strategies
  • Diverse distribution channels present in the medical products industry.
The instructor for this course is Philip Benz, MBA, MPH, Vice President of Portland-based Advanced Vascular Dynamics. You can find a complete course description (including syllabus) in the Spring 2008 course schedule.

Information Session--Learn More About This New Bioscience Management Course

On Tuesday, March 18, the MST Department will host an information session for anyone wanting to learn more about the course. The instructor, Phil Benz, will give an overview of the course and answer questions.

This session will be in the OHSU/OGI Wilson Clark Center, Room 371 (building 3 on the Campus Map. The session begins at 5:30 PM, and refreshments will be served.

Adventures for the Curious: Saturday Academy has a full schedule of classes for your 4th-12th graders. These classes are for anyone who wants to explore new topics and who likes to learn by doing. The classes are small, informal and project-oriented. Students can explore a multitude of topics from science, engineering and technology to humanities and the arts.
